Accuracy - Case study Rome

Our dedication to accuracy

The number one reason why Communicarta enjoys repeat business is because we're passionate about accuracy. We spend an enormous amount of resources ensuring our maps are accurate. Our teams will visit the city and actually travel every last mile or kilometer of the transport system making detailed notes as they go. From these notes our cartography department will translate them into accurate and easy to use maps.

In the case of Rome's transport authority, the designer has named the station on the Roma Lido line Piramide wheras it is in fact called Roma Porta S. Paolo.

This is just one example of one inaccuracy from the official map but is typically repeated many times over in different cities around the world.

The net effect is that a person travelling this metro system and looking for Piramide would get confused and potentially lost in an unfamiliar city.
Their disatisfaction would be directed towards the publication they were using at the time.

If a map is neither accurate nor easy to use, then there is probably little point in providing it in the first place.

At Communicarta we believe accuracy of the work is the number one consideration before anything else.

Please note that the Communicarta map also features the tram lines and you can see an example of this additional information in the green line above.

The attention to detail can clearly be seen here where the relationship between the lines and different stations have been separated out as is the case on the ground.
